The question which often bothers me about FFE is why the people who wrote the manual didn't compare the stats in the manual to those in the actual game. The retro figures, the number of missiles, the number of crew and the number of gun mountings are all wrong.
Personally, I think that Bob must have lost a card game to Michael Lanner once and hated him ever since as I don't think that the Lanner 2 is that bad. OK it's sluggish, but at the point in your career where you can afford one you will probably be more interested in making money from trading or the amount of shields and weapons you can squeeze into your ship. A decent pilot with a reasonable level of shields will be fairly safe in this ship.
